Sisodia urges Dharmendra Pradhan to postpone National Achievement Survey Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has written to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, urging him to postpone the National Achievement Survey (NAS) scheduled on Friday in schools across the country to assess learning levels. Sisodia, who is also Delhi's Education Minister, said the data collected in the survey will not be "reliable" as schools have not completely opened after a prolonged closure due to COVID-19, and the exercise will be a "wastage" of time and money. 5. Security: Tripura Opposition parties hail Supreme Court order The Trinamool Congress and other Opposition parties hailed the Supreme Court order delivered on Thursday that directed the Tripura Government to ensure political parties are not prevented from conducting programmes in a peaceful manner. The order was passed in a petition filed by TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev. The bench said it expected that arrangements would be made by the State Government and the DGP. It said no party should be prevented from pursuing its rights in accordance with the law. 6. UN chief says global warming goal on "life support" United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 F) is “on life support” with climate talks in Glasgow so far not reaching any of the UN's three goals, but he added that “until the last moment, hope should be maintained.” In an interview, Mr. Guterres said the UN climate talks in Glasgow, Scotland “are in a crucial moment” and need to accomplish more than securing a weak deal that participating nations agree to support. 7. 'Hunar Haat' to be inaugurated by Union minister Mandaviya in Lucknow on Friday Over 600 artisans and craftsmen from more than 30 states and Union territories will showcase their products in the 32nd 'Hunar Haat', which will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya here on Friday. Mandaviya will inaugurate the 'Hunar Haat', which aims to provide a perfect platform to "promote and preserve" the traditional art and craft of the country, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters. 8. Spain seeks to curb migrant arrivals to Canary Islands More than 400 migrants arrived by sea in Spain's Canary Islands over a 24-hour period, emergency services said on Thursday, as the Spanish government discussed with Algerian officials ways of fighting illegal migration from North Africa to Europe. Most of the migrants came from sub-Saharan Africa but they also included at least eight from Bangladesh. 9. One nation, one portal to redress public grievances soon: Jitendra Singh Union minister on Thursday Jitendra Singh said the Centre is moving towards creating 'One Nation, One Portal' to redress public grievances. He said efforts are being made to integrate state grievance portals with the Centre's CPGRAMS (Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System), an online system that mainly allows filing of complaints by people against different central government departments. 10.
