1. Kerala rain death toll at 27 The Central Water Commission has issued an Orange alert for Manimala, Kallada, Achankovil, Neyyar and Karamana rivers of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has withdrawn the red alert and currently, there is a Yellow alert sounded for the south-central districts of the state. The higher education department in the state informed that all the exams scheduled to be held tomorrow have been postponed while the classes that were scheduled to begin from October 18 have been postponed to October 20. 2. Heavy rainfall likely to lash West Bengal The IMD said heavy rainfall is likely to occur in West Bengal and Odisha till October 20 due to a low-pressure area formed over north Telangana and strong southeasterly wind from the Bay of Bengal. It advised fishermen of the two states not to venture into the sea till Tuesday. 3. Nitin Agarwal all set to be elected U.P. Obituaries and congratulatory motions will be discussed, and the Business Advisory Committee report would be tabled, she added. The House will also pass second set of demands for grants, Ulman said, adding that the Goa Preservation of Trees Amendment Bill will also be tabled. 6. Admissions under DU's third cut-off list to start The admissions for undergraduate courses under the Delhi University's third cut-off list will commence from Monday. The aspirants will have time till October 21 to apply for the course of their choice. The last day to pay the fees will be October 25. 7.
