The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said he will launch the Indian Sign Language Dictionary (audio and text embedded sign language video for the hearing impaired, in conformity with Universal Design of Learning), Talking Books (audio books for the visually impaired), School Quality Assurance and Assessment Framework of CBSE, NISHTHA teachers' training programme for NIPUN Bharat and Vidyanjali portal (for facilitating education volunteers/ donors/ CSR contributors for school development). The theme of 'Shikshak Parv-2021' is 'Quality and Sustainable Schools: Learnings from Schools in India', it noted. 2. Mandaviya in Italy for the G20 health ministers' meeting Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on September 6 held an informal meeting with WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and senior officials of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on the second day of G20 Health Ministers' meeting and discussed matters of global health importance. Mr. Mandaviya had met his counterparts of UK, Brazil And Italy on September 5. He is on a four-day visit to Rome in Italy for the G20 health ministers' meeting till September 7. 3. Karnataka CM Bommai Delhi visit on September 7-8, to meet Union Ministers Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will be on a two-day visit to New Delhi starting from September 7, during which he will meet several Union Ministers to discuss various matters concerning the state, his office said on September 6. According to official sources, the Chief Minister may seek an appointment and meet BJP national president J P Nadda, during which discussions on the party's performance in the recent urban local body polls, Tourism Minister Anand Singh's disgruntlement regarding his portfolio, and filling of four vacant berths in his cabinet, may come up for discussion. 4. Section 144 imposed in Karnal ahead of farmers' protest Central forces were deployed, mobile Internet services suspended and prohibitory orders banning the gathering of people were imposed here on September 6, a day ahead of the gherao planned by farmers at the mini-secretariat over the August 28 lathicharge. The Haryana government, which had earlier ordered the suspension of mobile Internet services here from 12:30 p.m. on September 6 till the midnight of September 7, decided to suspend these services in four adjoining districts as well. The mobile Internet service will remain suspended in Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind and Panipat districts with effect from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on September 7. 5. Contractual employees of Punjab Roadways, PRTC go on indefinite strike Around 8,000 contractual employees of the state-owned Punjab Roadways and PRTC went on an indefinite strike on September 6, demanding regularisation of their jobs. More than 2,000 buses of the state-owned Punjab Roadways and Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) stayed off roads, claimed Punjab Roadways, Punbus/PRTC Contract Workers' Union president Resham Singh Gill. He said only 200 to 300 buses operated by regular employees plied on the streets. 6. Internet services restored in 8 districts of Kashmir The internet services on mobile devices were restored in eight of the 10 districts in the Kashmir valley on September 6, police said. Voice call and internet services, except the lease lines, were snapped on September 1, hours after the death of hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani at his Hyderpora residence. The mobile internet services were restored in all districts of the valley except Srinagar and Budgam districts around 7 p.m., a police official said. The suspension of these services in Srinagar and Budgam districts will be reviewed on September 7, police said. 7. NABL certification must for private labs’ enrollment for COVID-19 testing: ICMR to HC The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has informed the Delhi High Court that National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) certification is must for enrollment of private labs for COVID-19 testing and NABL certifies the readiness of labs to undertake molecular testing of SARS-Cov-2 before the research body allows them for testing. Regarding the online health service aggregators, the ICMR said monitoring of their activities does not come under its purview. The ICMR made the submission in an affidavit filed in response to a plea seeking contempt action against the authorities for not adhering to the Delhi High Court’s earlier direction to take action against online health service aggregators which are operating illegally and collecting samples for COVID-19 tests. The petition is scheduled to come up for hearing on September 7 before Justice Najmi Waziri. 8.
