"Indian Railways plans to gradually restart passenger train operations from 12th May, 2020... Thereafter, Indian Railways shall start more special services on new routes," the Railway Ministry said in a statement. "It will be mandatory for the passengers to wear face cover and undergo screening at departure and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the train," a statement from the railways said. 3)Train Services | Bare minimum reservation counters for MPs, freedom fighters, limited concessionsThe Railways said bare minimum reservation counters will be open on the routes of these special trains for MPs and freedom fighters among others while bookings will be available only on the IRCTC website ([www.irctc.co.in]() for the general quota passengers. Ticket fare concessions can only be availed by patients, students and people with disabilities while no concessions for senior citizens are applicable, officials said. 4) SC to hear plea on stranded labourersThe Supreme Court will hear a petition seeking instruction to the central government to identify and transport each stranded labourers to their homes in a dignified manner. Special trains are being run to transport migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded in various parts of the country due to lockdown. 5) Airport Model screening for COVID-19 planned at 3 railway stations in KeralaThe Kerala government plans to put in place airport-model COVID-19 screening at three railway stations, where the trains will halt. The stops in Kerala are Kozhikode, Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram railway stations. 6) Coronavirus | Citing COVID-19 spike, TN CM urges PM not to resume air, rail services till May 31Citing the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday [urged the Prime Minister not to resume]( regular air and rail services in the State till May 31. 7) Over 170 migrants test positive in Bihar in one-week time, Nitish seeks more testsWith thousands of migrants continuing to reach Bihar every day, over 170 of them have been [found infected with COVID-19 disease]( in the last one week. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is now seeking more tests of migrants to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state. The samples of migrants were taken from 25 quarantine centers where mainly those coming from red zones are staying. 8) Punjab CM Amarinder Singh pitches for extension of lockdownPunjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday pitched for extension of the lockdown, but with a carefully crafted strategy, backed by fiscal and economic empowerment of the states, to save lives and secure livelihood. Clearly favouring continuation of a strict lockdown, in view of the escalating cases of Covid nationwide, the Chief Minister said at the Video Conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi that states needed to be given greater flexibility in micro-planning as part of a carefully planned exit strategy. 9) First repatriation flight from Dubai to Mangalore to arrive todayThe first repatriation flight from Dubai to the city as part of Vande Bharat mission will land at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Tuesday. All the arrangements have been made to receive the passengers. 10) All mosques in Iran to reopen todayAll mosques in Iran will reopen today, a further step in the government's plans to ease restrictions which aimed to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the official IRIB news agency reported. 11) UK to set out future of coronavirus furlough schemeThe future of a British government scheme that is paying the wages of more than 6 million workers at businesses affected by the coronavirus will be set out on Tuesday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said. The Job Retention Scheme, which pays 80% of the wages of staff who have been put on temporary leave, is due to expire at the end of June. 12) Putin lifts Russia's coronavirus 'non-working' period from TuesdayRussian President Vladimir Putin on Monday said the country's [non-working period imposed]( to contain the spread of the coronavirus will be lifted from Tuesday.
