[The One Thing Every Influential Guitar Tone Has In Common]( megatrav · Mar 20, 2023 at 6:58 PM · Replies 44 I haven't seen his newest video shared yet. I thought I'd bring the chaos. Latest: Just food for thought, i went back and watched some of the video again, couldn't make it through the entire thing cause. Well there's many disagreements, and technically, this is not really scientific method stuff here... if you wanna get scientific, lets look at his “hypothesis”, “I sounded nothing like... [When does damage become "relic"?]( firehawkkwah · Mar 20, 2023 at 11:55 PM · Replies 39 Honest question. I've always treated my guitars well, and the oldest one has some dings and scratches, but the newer ones look almost mint. That said, I do like the look of relics. I don't own one, but no shade thrown. When I made my bass from lumber, I did a little aging on it, partly to hide... Forum [Guitars in General]( [Read more](
[The most difficult amp you ever met?]( Telfer · Mar 21, 2023 at 9:14 PM · Replies 19 Would you agree there's a difference between a 'bad' amp and a 'difficult' amp? A bad amp is one that just sounds bad no matter how you dial it or what tubes and speakers you install. An example would be the Peavey ValveKing amps made in China...which fly out the door of pawn shops for 300... Forum [Amps and Cabs]( [Read more](
[W/D/W via line out into mixer - Cab Sim latency?]( Mcentee2 · Mar 16, 2023 at 12:25 PM · Replies 9 I've nearly got my wdw rig sorted but am stalled at the final piece. Dry amp for full center dry, into an attenuator with a line out feeding a set of wet effects into a Xenyx mixer and into a pair of Kali full range monitors. That wet path is itself split into another dry path that I like to... Forum [Effects, Pedals, Strings & Things]( [Read more](
[Riddle for Techs/Luthiers]( charliechitlins · Mar 20, 2023 at 11:23 PM · Replies 6 I just had a Martin 00-17 on the bench with an interesting problem. Dropped D tuning. When an F# was played on the 4th string, 4th fret it sounded fine. If the note was played while a G was depressed on the low E, 5th fret, the F# buzzed. The G didn't need to be played, just fretted.

[Peavey Wolfgang lower output pickups?]( ledvedder · Feb 2, 2023 at 4:57 PM · Replies 6 What's everyone's experience with lower output pickups in a Wolfgang? What pickups have worked for you? I've been through several pickups throughout the 25 years that I've had my Wolfgang. For years I had the stock pups in it. Then I tried a few SD and Dimarzio. CC, Custom/59, Norton, Tone Zone... [Are you afraid to really play any of your guitars?]( yeatzee · Mar 20, 2023 at 8:09 PM · Replies 171 Curious where the hive mind stands on this issue. I've got a couple friends with some really high dollar guitars that never get played, both vintage and new. The reason is because they're afraid to add wear to the instrument, they baby those specific guitars and then have others they play more... Forum [Guitars in General]( [Read more](
[The New Mesa/Boogie POWERHOUSE Reactive Amp Load Attenuator]( RetVet2018 · Aug 18, 2020 at 10:10 PM · Replies 68 I'm looking to get my first attenuator here in the near future! Has anyone gotten one of these yet or have any experience with it? I saw that there are three different versions: 16 ohm, 8 ohm, and 4 ohm models. If I had a 100 watt amp head with two 16 ohm cabs, which version would I get... Forum [Amps and Cabs]( [Read more](

[Headrush Prime now available, will it be worth the price of admission?]( quantech · Mar 21, 2023 at 2:42 AM · Replies 151 For all the haters ragging on Headrush for rehashing old 11R modeling/tech for years, looks like those days are now over. [While everyone is talking about their Monkey, I've been playing with my new Snapper.]( Gmanchefboy · Mar 21, 2023 at 4:40 PM · Replies 9 Menatone Mini Red Snapper that is. What an awesome pedal! Aggressive yet open, the strings definition is outstanding. Been comparing it to a Tim, Dot and Amp11. If you put the proverbial gun to my head, at this point, I'd take the Menatone. Definitely the most aggressive of the bunch. I... Forum [Effects, Pedals, Strings & Things]( [Read more](
