[The Gear Page]( Trending Threads Newsletter [Trending Gear This Week - Marshall The Guv'nor Overdrive/Distortion Pedal]( Sweetwater · Mar 3, 2023 at 12:00 AM · Replies 50 in 1988, Marshall debuted The Guv'nor, the original British amp-in-a-box pedal that set the bar for all distortion pedals that followed. Marshall is reissuing this venerated stompbox to commemorate the company's 60th anniversary. The rebooted pedal offers a direct, one-to-one copy of the original, right down to the iconic graphics, robust metal construction, and individually colored control knobs. Most importantly, this reissue delivers the same growling, snarling bite as its predecessor... Good to see they're finally closer to an actual release. It's only been what, 15 years of them claiming there was gonna be a new album? I generally play around 85 decibels or so and with a clean tone 80% of the time. When I do want some gain, I use pedals. I generally prefer a Fender style tone, so I've been considering a 65' Princeton Reverb. Any other... Latest: On the 'tough on drum techs' category - around the time of Brain Salad Surgery (IIRC), Carl Palmer had a full double kit built with solid brass shells. They were so heavy that the crew set it up on its own platform and built an Anvil case big enough to cover it... The series has launched with four products. And for the first time in my memory, they're breaking four digit prices. $900 for the Les Pauls and $1200 for the Korina V and Explorer! It wasn't long ago... Forum [Guitars in General]( [Read more]( [Blackstrap Electrik Co, "If you think John Mayer has sweet tone, you'll hate this." I'm pretty inexperienced with tonebenders, I've owned a DAM MKIV but this is my first MKI and I love it so far. I got a fancy Blackstrap Electrik Co. Greenleaf today from Atomic Music in Beltsville, Maryland. It is awesome... Love the clips I’ve heard of the Bloodmoon as well but don’t know if I’d want a reverb darker than the standard ‘Moon. What’s your preferred version? I seem to be drawn to dual phasers like the Pulse Doppler or even the Walrus Vanguard, though the latter doesn't seem so well regarded (I like what I hear on YouTube though). I downloaded it and ran through the included free models today and they would take a lot of work and an add'l signal chain to sound very good if you don't want a dry classic rock or fuzz tone, which sounded good enough out of the box. The rockerverb II does not sound as good as my tube version. I will try some of the user-uploaded egde of... Latest: For under 1000, you may want to check out either the Sire H7 or the Epiphone Es-335. Haven’t tried the site, but the Epi is phenomenal. For slightly above 1000, you get much better options in the Eastman t386 or the Tokai Es-200 - seriously, the Tokai is just as good as any 335 including the real deal...
