Even Joe Biden won’t really defend it. This is markedly different from the Republican candidates in 2008 and 2012, who separated themselves from the George W. Bush record without publicly decrying the tax cuts, No Child Left Behind, or strongly criticizing the foreign policy and national security choices of the Bush years. Today every major Democratic candidate but one is running against Obamacare, against Obama’s immigration policies, and against the foreign policy and national security choices of the Obama years.
