1. Elizabeth Warrenâs DNA Test Proves She Was Lying
By David Harsanyi Acting as if the results of the senator's DNA test are a vindication of her initial claims is an assault on reason.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Why did Sen. Elizabeth Warren spend all these years claiming to be a Native American?
One plausible answer might be that her family had lied to her, or were also misled about their heritage, and that Warren truly believed she was Cherokee. This happens relatively often, I suppose. Then again, few people exhibit as much certitude, and gain as many benefits, over a claim thatâs so obscure and unverifiable.
The second is that Warren herself lied or exaggerated her heritage, knowing full well that her contention to Cherokee ancestry was likely nothing more than lore. She then latched on to this negligible history to gain traction in an academic field that was searching for more diversity in their candidates.

2. Ten Key Questions About The Khashoggi Affair To Answer Before Buying The Press Narrative
By Lee Smith The discipline shown in the messaging campaign against Saudia Arabia suggests Turkish President Recep Erdogan is managing the Khashoggi file directly.
---------------------------------------------------------------
On October 2, Saudi national and U.S. green-card holder Jamal Khashoggi reportedly walked into the Saudi consulate to resolve issues related to his marital status. Through anonymous leaks to the press, Turkish sources claim he did not leave the diplomatic facility alive. More anonymous sources claim he was tortured and murdered, allegations repeated in the U.S. press without evidence.
It is possible that the circumstances around Khashoggiâs disappearance will soon come to light. However, itâs equally likely that the passage of time will only further obscure events. To cast some light on the issue, I thought it was worthwhile asking what seem to me the central questions.

3. Arizona Democrat Kyrsten Sinema Attacked âBullshitâ Stay-At-Home Moms For âLeeching Off Their Husbandsâ
By Bre Payton
'These women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing the checks is some sort of feminism because they're choosing to live that life.'
---------------------------------------------------------------
Democratic Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema, of Arizona, once described stay-at-home moms as leeches in a 2006 interview.
âThese women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing the checks is some sort of feminism because theyâre choosing to live that life,â she told Scottsdale nightlife magazine 944. âThatâs bullshit. I mean, what the f*** are we really talking about here?â

4. Why Brett Kavanaugh Should Sue Christine Blasey Ford For Defamation
By Chris Murray The Senate hearing involving Christine Blasey Fordâs accusations against Brett Kavanaugh ended in a he-said/she-said impasse. A defamation lawsuit might remedy that.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The controversy over Brett Kavanaughâs confirmation to the Supreme Court didnât end when he was sworn in. Christine Blasey Fordâs accusations will haunt Kavanaugh for the rest of his career. Critics say his elevation to the court will cast a shadow of illegitimacy over the institution for years to come.
This is why Kavanaugh should consider suing Ford for defamation now: Not to retaliate or seek damages, but in the publicâs interest. The Senate Judiciary Committeeâs proceedings involving Fordâs accusations left many observers unsure what to think. Also, a defamation case would give both Kavanaugh and Ford access to judicial proceduresâdocument requests, interrogatories, subpoenas, depositions, location inspectionsâfor discovering the truth.

5. The Five Most Important Guns In American History
By David Harsanyi
From the Long rifle to the AR-15, the story of firearm innovation is inextricably tied to the story of the United States.
---------------------------------------------------------------
This piece is adapted from David Harsanyiâs new book, âFirst Freedom: A Ride Through Americaâs Enduring History with the Gunâ (Threshold Editions).
1. Kentucky Rifle
Martin Meylin has been credited with being the first great American gunmaker and inventor of the Pennsylvania long rifleâwhich was to become known as the Kentucky long rifle (âKentucky,â in those days, being anything in the wilderness west of Pennsylvania). Meylinâs small cobblestone workshop still stands off a two-lane road in Lancaster. Local schools are named after him. Plaques have been erected in his honor. State politicians have even written legislation commemorating his contribution to American life.
