[Full article]( THE IMPEACHMENT ELECTION ROLLS ON May of last year, it has been my position that this is an impeachment election. Democrat leadership may currently have cold feet about impeachment, and they may very well succeed in tamping down on their smarter candidates talking about impeaching the president as they have to this point, but the fact is that the base of their party wants President Trump impeached now, even before yesterday’s developments, and yes, even if they don’t realize he won’t be removed from office. Parties tend to go where their base is, and if Democrats indeed experience a blue wave, the demands will be even higher for them to impeach immediately. Failing to support impeachment will become a litmus test for candidates for 2020 – and waving your hands about impeaching him at the ballot box will not be enough.
