Can't believe the FADER newsletter wasn't nominated for a Grammy. I'm not upset, just confused. I put my heart and soul into this thing every day, and I just thought that maybe this would be the year that The Recording Academy would recognize my work. I get that this isn't technically an "achievement" in the "recorded music industry," but a snub is a snub. Whatever! Golden Globe noms come out next week, so I've got my fingers crossed for that. Anyway, here's [who actually got nominated.]( - Here's a fun thing: For the first time since 1999, there isn't a single white man in the Album of the Year category. That's [almost 20 years.]( I was a freakin' toddler the last time this happened. I use that as a reference point both so that you get a frame of reference for how long its been since this happened but also to let you know that I am very young. - Grammy nominee Lorde got a special gift when a fan went and [put her album]( in the actual Louvre. Down the back, but who cares? Still the Louvre. - Pi'erre Bourne says that he's producing tracks for [Drake's new album.]( Which is great news for him and bad news for me because I do not know if I am in a place emotionally to handle another Drake album cycle. The think pieces, oh the think pieces!!! - Some facts about Cherrie: 1. She is cool as shit. 2. She's Swedish! 3. Her song “163 För Evigt” absolutely slaps. She was in NYC recently and [chatted with us]( about lots of stuff that includes but is not limited to: being black in Sweden, making R&B music, and what it feels like to have a global smash. - Ok so this came out last night but not until after I sent out the newsletter so my apologies if you've already read it. It's a [brief history of Mase and Cam'ron's beef.]( It's so good. You'll learn everything you need to know about this important part of New York City history.
