“She put her paw on my chest and ... she looked at me like, ‘You are my human.'" No Images? [Click here]( August 1, 2018 Good morning! Today we have a cat and dog who chose their new dad, a bear rescued from a sewer and two inseparable dogs. 1. Random Kitten Walks Into Office And Immediately Chooses Her New Dad Photo Credit: Kirill Georgiev Kirill Georgiev was at work one day last year, sitting on one of the office couches, when a little kitten randomly wandered into the office — and jumped right into his lap. He wasn’t sure how to react at first, but the kitten was so sweet and clearly needed a friend, and he suddenly knew what he needed to do. “She put her paw on my chest and looked into my eyes,” Georgiev told The Dodo. “That moment I decided, 'This is the perfect opportunity to finally take care of someone.'” The kitten seemed to instantly fall in love with Georgiev, and it was clear that she wasn’t giving him a choice. She had already decided that she was going home with him. “She looked at me like, ‘You are my human,’ so I adopted her,” Georgiev said. Georgiev took the kitten home with him that very day, and she quickly became a member of his family. She settled into her new home as if she had always been meant to live there. Now, a year later, she completely runs the house. She climbs up onto the roof and gets stuck, demands attention all day long and walks all over very important paperwork — and her new dad couldn’t love her more. He calls her Koshka, which is the Russian word for cat. Koshka essentially chose her dad the day she wandered into his office, and recently, a stray dog decided to do exactly the same thing. Photo Credit: Kirill Georgiev Georgiev arrived at his office one morning and found the stray dog sitting in front of the building. The poor dog was incredibly dirty, but otherwise seemed to be OK. She walked right up to him, and gave him the exact same look that Koshka had given him a year ago — and in that moment, he realized he was now a dog dad, too. “I had no other option,” Georgiev said. “Dogs seem to like me, so I'm taking care of her now.” He decided to name her Jessie, and took her home to join the other animal who had also chosen him. Jessie is settling in well to her new home and is super playful with her new dad, although she’s definitely a little scared of her bossy new cat sister. “The pup seemed to be curious, but a bit afraid of master cat,” Georgiev said. “I'll hope they'll do better soon.” Georgiev is fostering Jessie for now and might try to find a new permanent home for her later. In the meantime, though, he’ll continue to care for her and offer her all the love she clearly wasn’t getting in her life on the streets, and hopefully Koshka will be a little more accepting of her new sister very soon. 2.People Notice Someone Peeking Out At Them From Down In The Sewer Photo Credit: Twitter/CPW SE Region Folks at the Brookdale Skyline assisted living community in Colorado were given quite a shock on Thursday after residents there noticed someone unexpected lurking in a nearby storm drain. Peering out from the shadowy sewer — was a bear. How the rather large bear ended up there isn't clear, but it appeared he'd need a helping hand to escape the spot. Before a rescue plan was put in place, a crew from news station KRDO 13 dropped by to see the sewer bear firsthand. "How'd you get in there?" someone is heard asking the bear on a video from the scene. The bear, however, chose to stay mum. Fortunately, the bear's subterranean predicament had a pretty easy solution. Photo Credit: Twitter/CPW SE Region Officials from Colorado Parks and Wildlife simply opened up the closest manhole cover and waited. It wasn't long before the bear climbed up and out on his own. As the bear scampered away, one of the officers pelted him in the rear end with a rubber bullet to reinforce his fear of humans. (Sure, it might seem a little mean, but it was done with the bear's best interest in mind.) With any luck, this will be the bear's one and only run-in with wildlife officials. 3. Best Friends Won't Let Dog Park Fence Stand In Their Way Photo Credit: Instagram/rykerthegermanshepherd They say opposites attract — and with Ryker and Bailey, it couldn’t be more true. While Ryker, a German shepherd, is hyper, Bailey, a golden retriever, is calm. Ryker is naturally outgoing and loves meeting new friends, while Bailey is shy and needs some encouragement. But, put the two dogs together, and you’ve got a perfect match. “When Ryker and Bailey met each other, they had both just turned 1 year old, and still had lots to learn,” Christine Sauvé, Ryker’s mom, told The Dodo. “Ryker helped bring Bailey out of her shell and become more assertive and playful with other dogs. They’ve brought out the best in each other.” The two dogs first met online, when their moms started following each other's Instagram profiles. When Bailey’s mom moved 10 minutes away from Sauvé’s home in Ottawa, in Ontario, Canada, puppy playdates became a common occurrence — and soon, not even a fence could keep them apart. “[Ryker] cannot contain her excitement when she sees Bailey and is small enough to wedge herself under the [dog park] fence,” Sauvé said. “Then Bailey doesn’t care that the gate's open and she shoves herself under too! They’re both so funny and are always making us laugh with the silly things they do. Anytime they see each other it’s this level of excitement.” Photo Credit: Instagram/rykerthegermanshepherd “They have quite the fun friendship and balance each other out,” Sauvé said. “Bailey is a calm, people-loving golden with the brightest, drooly smile. She’s one of Ryker’s favorite chew toys!” Bailey has had her work cut out for her when it comes to helping Ryker relax, but over time some of her laid-back attitude has managed to rub off on her friend. On the other hand, Ryker tries as hard as she can to rile up Bailey, but the chill pup has remained true to who she is despite Ryker’s best efforts. “She’s always nibbling on Bailey and trying to get her to zoom around with her,” Sauvé added, “but Bailey only zooms for 10 seconds at a time.” A year into their friendship, the two dogs are inseparable. They play in the snow during the winter, they love to swim together in the summer and, after a long day, they nap together. And, no matter where they are or what they’re doing, Ryker always has to have one paw touching Bailey. And Bailey doesn’t mind one little bit.
