I always found this strange, but from a health perspective there's really nothing wrong with it. However, there are a few things you should know before you go commando. The Facts 1. Without underwear, there is nothing to protect you from the fabric and seams of your pants. If you don't want your privates to chafe, try applying a thin layer of Vaseline or baby powder. 2. Your pants and shorts will get dirtier when they are in direct contact with your skin, so you'll need to wash them twice as often. 3. Without underwear to absorb moisturize, you can end up with some serious sweat stains. Prevent stains by sprinkling baby powder on your privates. (Going commando at the gym might not be such a good idea.) 4. This one should be pretty self-explanatory: don't wear skinny jeans. Skinny jeans don't leave much to the imagination, even when you do wear underwear, and thick fabrics like denim can pinch your crotch when you sit and stand. 5. Don't go commando when you go shopping. Without your underwear, there is nothing to protect your groin from the bacteria that could be lurking inside pants and shorts that others have tried on. Somewhere between species and domain are categories called "phyla;" for example, there are 34 animal phyla and 14 plant phyla. In studying a new DNA sequencing technique called "metagenomics," a team of Australian researchers has discovered a series of life forms that don't fit into any previously defined phyla. The Facts This discovery has prompted the creation of 17 new bacterial phylums and 3 new archaeal phylums. "The real value of these genomes is that many are evolutionarily distinct from previously recovered genomes," says lead researcher Gene Tyson. "They increase the evolutionary diversity spanned by both bacterial and archaeal genome trees by over 30%." Microorganisms are incredibly hard to study. Despite all our medical advances, we have only been able to culture about 1-2% of all known bacteria and archaea in labs. From a medical standpoint, the discovery is important because it could lead to the creation of new antibiotics that could help us overcome the widespread problem of antibiotic resistance.  Good to the last drop  Did you know...
