Immigration Crackdown Equals Construction Jobs for Women
The Grind
Intended government policies sometime produce unintended opportunities! A new report by MarketWatch has just revealed a new and perhaps growing trend within the home building industry. Because of the President's immigration crackdown on illegal aliens and increased enforcement measures targets companies that rely on hiring cheap labor, industries within home building, fabrication and construction are beginning to look elsewhere in hiring workers.
The report notes: "There are several demographics, not just immigrant men that home builders will have to start tapping as a labor source. Alison Charley is the face of another: "Women."
"I would like to see more women involved in the industry," she said. "It definitely feels like a boy's club. It's definitely different to be the odd one out. I think that we have a huge role to play in this industry."
The Details
Rob Dietz, the economist for the industry association, agrees. "I particularly challenge remodelers and builders to recruit more women," adding, "I think that will occur as the industry capitalizes."
There's little doubt the Presidents bold economic policies combined with a forceful immigration crackdown on illegal aliens has tightened the labor market substantially.
However not everyone sees the Presidents immigration policy as something positive, Moody's Analytics Chief Economist Mark Zandi worries that drying up the supply of cheap (and exploited) labor will create a labor crisis, and actually supports flooding the American labor force with more illegal workers.
Zandi told MarketWatch, "Without more immigration, even if we maintain the current level, we've got a problem, it's not just about attracting more, it's also about keeping the ones you have."
Adding: "The crackdown on illegals is terrifying, it's causing people to leave. More Mexicans leave than come here. That clearly is not helpful."
However Zandi dire economic predications, thus far doesn't seem to be bearing out, in that Trump's economic policies of lowering the corporate tax rates, reducing job killing regulations, and tax relief for the middle class, has actually increased wage growth within the construction industry.
For the first time in decades the countries GDP rate has grown to just over 3%, and the nations unemployment rate is the highest since the mid 70's down to just 4% with both African Americans and Latinos enjoying the highest employment rate in history.
Moreover consumer confidence in America's economy since President Trump captured the White House climbed to 93.8% just days after the election, and has remained positive after Americans experienced first hand the Presidents tax rollback, and increases within their weekly paychecks, and businesses are reinvesting capital within their companies, expanding, hiring and growing.
Meanwhile the home building industry still needs to fill the labor shortage, and that's where the opportunity for woman exists.
The data from the 2016 American Community Survey show that of the 2.8 million individuals within the residential construction industry, only 9% are women.
In fact, the unintended opportunities derived from the Presidents forceful stand on immigration is actually creating an alternative industry for woman, reminiscent of that iconic WWII "Rosie the riveter" in which woman were called into action in factories and shipyards all across America, replacing their male counterparts, who joined the military. The visual of a strong woman flexing her arm with the caption reading "WE CAN DO IT" symbolized American feminism and economic power.

Mark Levin: "Mueller Probe Unconstitutional" Under Article II
The Grind
The "great one" Mark Levin appeared last evening on Fox's "Hannity" show and rocked the political landscape with his assertion that the Mueller investigation is "unconstitutional."
Levin a constitutional expert reverenced a little-known clause within the constitution called the "Appointments Clause" which provides that "principal officers" must be appointed by the President with the Senate's consent."
The Fox host of "Life, Liberty & Levin" went on to explain that because the Mueller team was given "special status" to several prosecutors on his team, by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in their probe of former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort, the entire investigation may be invalidated, thus "unconstitutional!"
The self-inflicted "catch-22" scenario by Rosenstein giving unlimited power to Mueller is exactly what the "Appointments Clause" under Article II of the Constitution was designed to prevent.
The Details
Levin explained further that the Mueller attorneys presiding over the Manafort case before Federal Judge T.S. Ellis III, in Alexandria, VA., may have violated Article II of the Constitution because they not only represented the office of the special counsel, but also simultaneously considered "Special Assistant U.S. Attorneys."
Therefore Levin argues that Mueller, (who's the direct supervisor) should be legally considered a "roving" U.S. Attorney.
Now here's where it gets dicey, under the Constitution only the President can nominate all "principal officers," including U.S. attorneys and cabinet members.
However Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller as special counsel. Moreover, Rosenstein is a "political appointee" and as such was never "confirmed" by the Senate, as anyone serving as a U.S. attorney by law must, thus the entire investigation may be invalid.
"Rosenstein usurped the authority of the President of the United States to nominate whoever he wants as a prosecutor," Levin said.
He continued; "Mr. Mueller is serving unconstitutionally in violation of the Appointments Clause of the U.S. Constitution because of the way Rod Rosenstein appointed him."
Levin laid out a legal premise for all attorneys to openly challenge whatever subpoenas the Mueller team throws out, to raise (as a defense), the Appointments Clause in court.
