Now Big Tech is coming after The Babylon Bee -- and satire as a whole.    [It sounds crazy — I know — but here we are, fighting for our RIGHT to save satire. To make jokes without fear of censorship. Will you stand with us to protect that right by signing the National Petition to Save Satire today?](   Satire is an art as old as speech itself. Who doesn’t like to poke fun at the absurd? And here at the Babylon Bee, that’s what we’re all about -- bringing some laughter to your day by lampooning the most ridiculous goings-on in our society.   It just so happens that the things we see as the most absurd... the bad ideas most deserving of ridicule... tend to be ideas on the political left.    Simply put, we go where the jokes are. We produce content that gets laughs, and the left provides us with no shortage of solid gold material.   But Big Tech and the “Woke Left” are the ultimate wet blanket. They have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they have no sense of humor. They don’t just refuse to laugh at the joke -- they try to silence the person telling it.   We should know. We’ve been in their crosshairs more times than we can count.  [Sign the Petition - Defend Satire and Free Speech]( Last fall, our CEO — Seth Dillon — was disinvited from speaking at his alma mater’s chapel for his leadership of our Christian, political, and everyday-life satire site.   After Donald Trump shared some of our content, the left came after us with vitriol.    We’ve been suspended by Twitter for “violating the Twitter Rules,” but thanks to our supporters who launched a #FreetheBee campaign, Big Tech was forced to restore our free speech rights.    The “investigative” website Snopes has attacked us because “too many people think satirical news is real.” You may think that alone is satire… but I can assure you it’s not.    Get ready for this, because I’m not kidding — Snopes has “fact-checked” the following from Babylon Bee satirical articles:  - Whether the Democrats demanded that, “Brett Kavanaugh submit to a DNA test to prove he’s not actually Hitler.”  - Snopes “fact-checked” whether AOC “guessed ‘free’ on the TV show The Price is Right.” - They also checked if it was true that Minnesota Congresswoman and prominent anti-semite Ilhan Omar asked, “If Israel is so innocent, then why do they insist on being Jews?”  These are JOKES. You know it. I know it. Any clear-headed American knows it. But on the radical left, if your humor doesn’t toe the party line, it can’t be tolerated.   This level of absurdity is not something I thought we’d face in America. But with each article we post, we face a very real threat of being attacked, smeared, muted, silenced, or even shut down by intolerant leftists without warning.   If we care about free speech, free thought, and the freedom to laugh, we MUST stand up to the intolerant Left. We MUST protect satire.   [Please help the Babylon Bee lead the charge by signing the Petition to Save Satire today. And if you know anyone who enjoys laughing, invite them to do the same.](   After all, if we can’t even make jokes online without being silenced, how can we ever claim to enjoy the freedom of speech?   Thank you for helping us save what shouldn’t need saving — free speech.    The Babylon Bee [Sign the Petition - Defend Satire and Free Speech](     Copyright © 2020 Babylon Bee, All rights reserved. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
