Keep The Change...Going For someone who has spent their entire adult life working, just the thought

[View this email in your browser]( Keep The Change...Going For someone who has spent their entire adult life working, just the thought of retirement can be daunting. A prime example of this is my father, who has retired from active work and now spends his time pottering around the house. The general joke when my brother and I call home is to check on how our mother is coping with his retirement. It is after all upon her to ‘manage’ my father, who now spends a lot more time at home. In the two years that I have been writing for The Better India, I have learnt and un-learnt so many things – I always associated retirement with people sitting at home, enjoying their time doing pretty much nothing. But that perception has undergone such a change. I have had the privilege of writing about some phenomenal ‘senior citizens’ who have proved that age is merely a number. Whether it is [trekking the Nathula pass all alone]( or setting up a[hospice to support terminally ill cancer patients]( some of these individuals have created a world for themselves and so many others in the bargain. What I have learnt from each of these people is that all one needs is the conviction, the rest, as they say, are all pieces of the puzzle that just fit in. If you have begun the week and the month feeling bogged down by the soring temperatures, then reading about these people might leave you feeling wholly charged and full of energy. Here’s hoping that at least one of you reading this feels motivated to do something you feel passionately about and if you do, then we’d love to hear all about it.
