You can help prevent home fires in our community! [Sound the Alarm - Save a Life - SIGN UP NOW]( {NAME}, Every day, seven people die in home fires. Most of these tragic deaths occur in homes that lack working smoke alarms. That’s why, as part of our annual Sound the Alarm initiative, the Red Cross is holding smoke alarm installation events across the nation. Sound the Alarm events in your state will take place starting this week! Volunteers are needed to help us install free smoke alarms to make homes safer from home fires in our community. [LEARN MORE]( Most people don’t realize that they have as little as two minutes to escape a home fire — or that home fires are the nation’s most frequent disasters. Since 2014, Red Cross volunteers have educated communities about home fire safety and have helped install smoke alarms across the country. Together, we’ve: - Saved over 1,900 lives - Installed more than 2.6 million smoke alarms - Made over 1.1 million homes safer. With your help, we can save even more lives by making homes our communities safer from home fires during our 2024 Sound the Alarm events.
