From rain, hail and deadly winds in the Southern Plains, to severe thunderstorms throughout the Southeast, to freezing weather and blizzard conditions across the North and Midwest, we have seen 18 disasters in the U.S. in 2024 alone. Disasters don’t take a break, but neither do we. [Please, {NAME}, will you give today to help individuals, families and neighborhoods prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters big and small?]( [HELP NOW]( I know it can be difficult to keep up with the frequency of nationwide disasters. At the American Red Cross, we receive a Daily Disaster Update to see where our response is needed most — and I wanted to share today’s report with you below. The Red Cross is ready to provide assistance as needed. California — Storms Storms across Sacramento County affected more than 17 residents. The Red Cross is working to provide food and recovery assistance. District of Columbia — Multi-Family Fire Multi-family fires affected 40 residents. The Red Cross is working to provide recovery assistance to impacted individuals. Georgia — Single Family Fire A single-family fire affected 2 individuals in Cook County. The Red Cross is working to provide mental health services and relief supplies as needed. Missouri — Blizzard The Red Cross is working to provide shelter to any individuals impacted by a blizzard in St. Louis County. New York — Storms The Red Cross is working to provide shelter and food to impacted individuals in Cattaraugus County. Oklahoma — Blizzard A blizzard affected Oklahoma County. The Red Cross is ready to provide support services as needed. Texas — Storms Storms affected 30 residents in El Paso County. The Red Cross is ready to provide recovery assistance and relief supplies as needed. Washington — Unknown Unknown weather conditions have impacted 100 residents in Pierce County. The Red Cross is working to provide support services as needed.
