Read more about Frank Edmond's story If you are unable to view this message correctly, [click here]( [American Red Cross]( Dear {NAME}, Frank Edmond is a veteran and a Red Cross hero. In 1938, after hearing the Navy was looking for musicians, Edmond answered the call to duty by playing French horn in the U.S. Navy band. On December 7, 1941 while touring on the U.S.S. Pennsylvania, the band was rehearsing for morning service when Edmond saw the sky over Pearl Harbor fill with Japanese planes. Without hesitating, Edmond immediately did what tens of thousands of veterans have done in service for our country — he selflessly risked his life in order to put the safety of others first. Trading his horn for a stretcher, Edmond began helping the wounded, undeterred by the bombs still raining down. Heroic acts these like are why we are proud to honor and thank Frank and all veterans like him this Veterans Day. You can join us in saying "thank you" to a veteran today. [Watch how supporters like you enable the Red Cross to help veterans during their greatest time of need.]( [American Red Cross]( Edmond’s heroism didn’t stop with World War II. For the last 15 years, the 98-year-old has worked as a Red Cross volunteer at a local military hospital, answering phones, greeting visitors, and providing a pick-me-up to every patient that walks – or wheels – through the door. With kindness, compassion, and a willingness to roll up his sleeves and help wherever needed, Edmond embodies the Red Cross mission every day of his life. On Veterans Day, we couldn’t be prouder to honor Frank and tens of thousands of his fellow veterans. On behalf of all of us at the Red Cross, thank you!
