Specifically in Texas, over 1.3 million people remain without power and air conditioning, while dangerous, high temperatures smother the area. It could be weeks before electricity is fully restored. Disaster workers are focused on supporting the growing need for emergency shelter as individuals seek relief from the extreme heat and massive power outages after Hurricane Beryl.
