This Earth Day, help communities thrive after disasters. [Celebrate Earth Day]( {NAME}, when the unimaginable happens and disaster strikes, the lives of individuals, families and communities can be irrevocably changed in a matter of hours. But even before emergencies strike, American Red Cross teams are on the ground. As soon as it’s safe, emergency response vehicles fan out across damaged neighborhoods, where they deliver warm meals, lifesaving supplies and much-needed comfort and emotional support. As the climate crisis continues to impact our planet and disasters grow more frequent, the need to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters has never been greater. That’s why, this Earth Day, we’re asking you to make a donation that will help communities persist, rebuild and thrive after disasters. [Will you give now to help communities find the hope and resources to rebuild and flourish after disasters like hurricanes, storms and home fires?]( In the days, months and weeks that followed Hurricane Ian, Florida’s devastating Category 4 hurricane in 2022, Red Cross teams stood with families at every step on their road to recovery. Disaster financial assistance programs placed some $31 million into the hands of thousands of families. This aid helped affected residents prioritize their own recovery needs — such as home repairs, new housing costs and accessing health and mental health services. [Quotes from individuals affected by Hurricane Ian]( Today, a year and a half later, southwest Florida looks much different. Communities have begun to resemble the bustling towns they once were. Many families have regained a sense of normalcy, and the scars of tragedy have slowly begun to heal. We don’t know what disasters we’ll face in the months ahead, but with your help, we can be there for those in need. [Please, will you give to help us raise money this Earth Day and help communities recover and thrive after disasters like hurricanes, storms and home fires?]( Thank you for supporting this lifesaving work.
