Nearly 10 million Texans have [consumed some level of atrazine](—a toxic herbicide—in our drinking water, according to a new [report](. A whopping 472 water utility systems across the state tested positive for at least one detection. The Washington, D.C.-based Environmental Working Group, which released the report, believes that the water utilities could be lowballing the amount of detected atrazine. The report also notes that tests for atrazine are being run outside of peak growing season, when farmers wouldn't use the herbicide as frequently. A Fruitless Search Dozens of Fort Worth police officers [spent hours]( helping a man searching for his daughter. The problem? She didn't exist. John Jerald Ratcliff allegedly went door-to-door Wednesday, asking people in an apartment complex if they had seen his three-year-old. At 11:30 p.m., the apartment residents called the cops, who helped Ratcliff search through the night. It was 6:30 a.m. before officers found out he didn't have children. Ratcliff faces a misdemeanor charge of filing a false release report. Conspiracy Granny A judge sent a woman who has been [involved in harassing survivors]( of the Sutherland Springs massacre to a psychiatric facility. Jodi Marie Mann, who calls herself "Conspiracy Granny," has already spent four months in federal prison under psychiatric evaluation, but a report ordered by a judge in June shows that she may have trouble with her understanding of reality. Mann's boyfriend, Robert Ussery, is accused of illegally possessing a gun when he confronted Pastor Frank Pomeroy—whose daughter was among 26 worshipers killed—on the lawn of Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church in March. Mann is charged with aiding and abetting her boyfriend in possessing the gun in the incident, as well as a cache of weapons found later at Ussery’s home.
