MEANWHILE, IN TEXAS...
Civil War
The Republican Party may have firm control of Texas, but [tensions seemed high](as the party of Trump opened its biennial statewide convention in San Antonio on Thursday. The social conservative faction of the party was pitted against a more moderate, business-oriented faction, manifesting itself as a civil war. “We’ve got to the point where there is so much vitriolic brother-against-brother in the same party,” said Cindy Asche, who is running to become the new chairman of the Republican Party of Texas in a race that is causing much of the tension. Already, party leaders have shut down an attempt to censure four members of Congress—including U.S. Senator John Cornyn, the highest-ranking Texan in Washington—for their support of an omnibus spending package that many Republicans opposed.

The Buns Are Back
Two fast food giants are reporting a restoration of order with the[arrival of a new supply of hamburger buns.]( California-based In-N-Out burger and Texas-based Whataburger were forced to close many of their restaurants this week because their supply of hamburger buns and Texas toast—well, didn't taste very good. Both chains assured customers that there were no health concerns; it was just a batch of bad-tasting bread. "We continue making deliveries around the clock to replenish our entire selection of white bread," said a statement from Whataburger.
Is In-N-Out really [the most popular fast food chain]( in Texas? Tent City
The Trump administration has selected Tornillo, a tiny, remote town just east of El Paso, as the site of [the first tent city]( to house the growing numbers of immigrant children separated from their parents after illegally crossing into the United States. After the administration adopted a zero tolerance policy, mandating that the U.S. Department of Justice pursue criminal charges against those entering the country illegally and remove children from immigrant parents, federal officials have been scrambling to find temporary shelter. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, the town will begin taking in up to 360 children over the next few days; federal officials confirmed they will begin erecting tents at a site in Tornillo to house the children.
Tornillo isn't the only place where federal officials are creating [detention facilities for immigrants ](.
