Dallas Police Officer Killed A Dallas police officer who was shot this week [died](Wednesday morning, marking the ninth North Texas law enforcement officer to die in the line of duty over the past two years. Officer Rogelio Santander, 27, was responding to a shoplifting call at a Lake Highlands Home Depot Tuesday evening when he, a second officer, and a store employee were all shot. The other officer, Crystal Almeida, 26, and the store employee remain in critical condition, but are said to be recovering. Armando Luis Juarez, 29, was arrested in connection with the shootings after a police chase Tuesday night. Recalling the [horror in Dallas]( in July 2016 .
