What do they want?: Well, save for Soros, they mostly want to mess with our education system. A lot of the biggest donors are committed to seeing Texas pass a contentious school-voucher program, which would divert money from public schools to private ones. The bottom line: Of course, a want for a voucher program isn’t the only thing driving donors this cycle. Other big donors appear interested in either legalized casino gambling or ensuring incumbents—on both sides of the aisle—keep their seats in the Lege.
