What we’re doing to keep everyone safe this Christmas Hello Ms {NAME}, As we approach the busy

What we’re doing to keep everyone safe this Christmas [Tesco.com]( [TESCO]( Hello Ms {NAME}, As we approach the busy run-up to Christmas, I wanted to reassure you that, at Tesco, we’re doing all we can to make sure that everyone can get the food they need in a safe environment. We have strict social distancing measures in our stores to keep our colleagues and customers safe, and we have plenty of food available to suit your needs at Christmas. Food for all - As we have good stock levels, please shop as you normally would so that everyone is able to get what they need. - We continue to have good availability on the small number of fresh products, such as lettuce, cauliflower and citrus fruit, that we import from France at this time of year. - More than 300 of our larger stores are now open 24 hours a day until Christmas Eve, with many other stores extending their hours to be open from 5am. For more information on opening hours, [check our store locator](. - NHS, emergency services and care workers have priority access to our stores, at any time. If there's a queue, please come to the front with your valid ID. Please [check store details]( for priority hours for vulnerable and elderly customers. - Since March, we have more than doubled home delivery and Click+Collect slots to 1.5 million a week, with over 760,000 vulnerable customers registered with us who are eligible for priority slots. The majority of our Christmas slots are now booked up. If you have a slot but are able to shop in-store, please do. This’ll help free up slots for those who need them most. - We have some temporary purchasing limits on certain essential products to help all customers have access to these products. Safety for everyone - To help us manage the number of people in-store, we’re strongly encouraging our customers to shop alone where possible. This is in line with government guidance and will help to reduce the time spent queueing and in-store, making it safer for all our customers and colleagues. - In our larger stores, we have colleagues at the entrances to help everyone follow the safety measures. And we have a simple ‘traffic light’ system in many stores to help us manage the flow in and out. - In case of rain, where we can, we’ve made sure there’s protected queueing outside. We’ll also be handing out umbrellas in some of our larger stores. - Hand sanitiser and cleaning stations are available around our stores, and we continue to have social distancing guidelines and signage in place. - When visiting our stores, please follow the legal guidance on wearing a face covering. If you forget to bring one, we have packs available to buy, which you can open immediately and pay for with your shopping later. - You may have chosen to buy your Christmas food a little earlier this year. If so, please make sure you store your fresh turkey in your fridge at a temperature of no more than 4°C. For more information, [check out our turkey guide](. Supporting our colleagues - As we have throughout the pandemic, we continue to support our colleagues affected by COVID-19 with paid absence from day one. - We have recruited more than 11,000 temporary colleagues to help stores across the UK this Christmas. - In recognition of the incredible work of our colleagues on the front line, we’re paying a 10% bonus over the festive period. Supporting communities - Over the last year, we have donated over £60m worth of meals to foodbanks and charities supporting those in need in our communities. - Through our Bags of Help community grants programme, we’ve donated £6m to more than 8,000 local groups supporting communities affected by COVID-19. - If you would like to support our charity partners but are unable to visit a store, you can now turn your Clubcard vouchers into [donations online](. We will continue to do everything we can to make sure our customers can get the food and essentials they need, while making our stores as safe as we can. We’re also monitoring government guidance to make sure we respond to any changes straight away. We are very grateful to you, our customers, for continuing to follow the guidelines that help to protect us all. I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. Best wishes, Jason Tarry Tesco UK CEO Terms and conditions We’re sending you this email because it contains important information that we think you need to know.
