Overnight, the Texas legislature implemented severe restrictions on abortion, essentially ending Roe v. Wade protections in the state. Itâs outrageous, and itâs exactly what Glenn Youngkin has in mind when he was caught on tape admitting that he wants to go 'on offense' and ban abortion in the Commonwealth. Let me be clear: whether itâs Youngkin in Virginia or Republicans in Texas, these extreme restrictions put people's health and lives at risk. Itâs wrong for Virginia. Itâs wrong for our country and I promise you Iâm going to fight like hell to stop it. [Today, Iâm asking you to stand with me on defending reproductive rights. Will you add your name and support defending Roe v. Wade and reproductive freedom?]( We've seen these extreme right-wing attacks on reproductive health in Virginia before, and as governor I fought back against every single one. I kept reproductive health clinics open when extreme right wing Republicans like Glenn tried to force them to close, and I vetoed every bill that aimed to restrict reproductive rights â including multiple efforts to defund Planned Parenthood. As I have been before, I will always be a brick wall against any attacks on reproductive rights in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
