[How do you know when it’s time to replace a makeup brush or tool?]( For me, when a makeup brush seems to shed noticeably, which makes it seem like it is falling apart, or no longer feels as soft as it used to would be when I'd consider replacing it. For other tools, when they no longer do the job they're supposed to; maybe an eyelash curler that doesn't give the same curl or a makeup sponge that doesn't have the same give any more. The pigmentation was buildable from semi-sheer to medium coverage (three layers). The texture was very silky and finely-milled, but it was also powdery and kicked up a fair amount of powder in the pan. This also led to it being harder to apply on drier skin (like my arm) as the product did not adhere that well; it was less of a concern over my cheeks (more normal) nor when applied over freshly applied liquid foundation. It had good pigmentation--just shy of full coverage--that was buildable to full coverage by patting on just a touch more product. The texture was smooth to the touch, soft and blendable without being powdery in the pan, and sat well on the skin except when worn at full coverage, then it emphasized my skin's texture ever-so-slightly. It had sheer coverage, which was buildable to medium coverage. It's a new, limited edition powder bronzer that's supposed to have "fine mother-of-pearl" in it that "imitates the dazzling light of skin that has been left silky by the sun." The consistency was soft but powdery, and I suspect that the texture played a role in the pigmentation of the product. I found it hard to blend the color out evenly and felt like it was best used as a base rather than a standalone eyeshadow as it was hard to get it to appear even at less than opaque coverage.
