On Giving Tuesday, a bold idea from the Head of TED This is a special message from the Head of TED.

On Giving Tuesday, a bold idea from the Head of TED [TED Talks Daily]( This is a special message from the Head of TED. We'll return to regular TED Talks Daily programming tomorrow! Dear friends, I'm writing to you as the guy lucky enough to have overseen TED these past 20+ years. I want to share with you something that connects the dots for so much of what I've learned over that time, as an individual, as a leader and as someone with a fortunate ringside seat for hundreds of TED speakers. It's a new way to think about what is arguably the most important idea humans have ever had: generosity. In the face of the world's daunting problems, our kindness can seem pretty inadequate. But what if there were a way to turbocharge it? We live in the connected age. What would it take for kindness to go viral? This is the question I explore in my new book, Infectious Generosity, which I've been working on these past three years. I've become really excited by what I've found, namely that under the radar countless heroic individuals have indeed discovered how to give in a way that inspires others. Their stories create a playbook that can help usher in a hopeful future. Please take a look at [infectiousgenerosity.org](. If you like what you see there, would you consider pre-ordering a copy? Any proceeds I receive from book sales will go back to TED, fueling our non-profit mission to champion ideas that can build a better future. The TED Talks below are also a wonderful way of rediscovering the inspiring side of human nature. On this Giving Tuesday, I invite you to join me in embracing the power of generosity this season. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
