Because it rains so heavily throughout the month, the temperature drops to around 26 or 27 degrees Celsius, and I can sit in my chair for five minutes without perspiring. It’s been like this for the last two weeks or so, and I, for one, wish it could be like this for every single week to come. That said, I know that this respite will be brief. Sooner rather than later, we’ll get back to our usual blisteringly hot 35-degree weather, and I’ll start reaching for the air-conditioning remote now and then. These conditions have made me acutely aware of the growing impact climate change is having - after all, it wasn’t usual to have temperatures swinging this wildly from month to month. Let’s hope that some of the Southeast Asian climate tech startups in today’s story have something to say about that. -- Jonathan  ---------------------------------------------------------------  THE BIG STORY [SEA’s climate tech landscape: Energy solutions are making it rain]( In 2023, 41 of the region’s climate tech startups secured investments, raking in the highest annual funding to date. --------------------------------------------------------------- TRENDING NEWS [Mobile app spending reverses slowdown in 2023: report]( In 2023, TikTok became the first non-game app to surpass US$10 billion in all-time consumer spending.
