Hello {NAME} After publishing our coverage on Jakob Angele exiting as CEO of Foodpanda, a number of people reached out to Tech in Asia to express their concern about Rebekah Rankine, his ex-girlfriend. Angele was just the latest victim of Rankine's trail of scams at the time. Based on the conversations we've had with her victims, Rankine sounds like a fun person to be with - given we're not on the receiving end of one of her antics. Rankine was so close with Angele that the former CEO was comfortable sharing Foodpanda's alleged talks with Grab on a potential acquisition. One of the sources we spoke to genuinely considered her a close friend. Ultimately, Rankine used this friendship to siphon money from them. This may not be the last we hear about Rankine, as she left a lot of loose ends in Singapore. She also has a court order to pay one of the sources we talked to by the end of this year. If anything of note comes up, we'll be sure to let you know. -- [Miguel Cordon]( journalist at Tech in Asia  --------------------------------------------------------------- TOP STORIES THIS WEEK 1ï¸. [Legal woes, police reports trail woman linked ex-Foodpanda CEOâs exit](
