- Other newsy highlights such as Grabâs protracted path to profit --------------------------------------------------------------- Hello {NAME} I wouldnât exactly call myself a hoarder, but I canât throw away old electronics. Maybe itâs because I grew up right around the end of the analog age. Back then, electronic devices werenât so ubiquitous, and the gadgets you did have needed to be cherished. Or maybe Iâm just being neurotic by thinking I need to hold on to my iPhone 4 just in case Iâll need it someday. But most people are more reasonable about throwing out old devices, and itâs partially thanks to them that e-waste recycling is a growing industry. Malaysia-based Erth is one startup thatâs turning a profit by recycling old phones and other devices. -- Peter

VISUAL STORY OF THE DAY [Grabâs long and winding road to profit](
After several years of losses, one of Southeast Asiaâs tech titans is in the black by one key metric for the third quarter of 2023. --------------------------------------------------------------- IN PARTNERSHIP WITH Success in talent recruitment requires balance and collaboration The employer-employee relationship has changed a lot in the past couple years. For one, things have become more collaborative. Take mental health for instance. Previously, it was a topic that was rarely discussed in the workplace. These days, many firms have a much healthier support system for workers, says Charles Ferguson, general manager for Asia Pacific at global recruitment firm G-P. Additionally, the dynamic between younger and older employees should become a lot more democratic as tech proliferates, giving equal opportunities to all. Last but not least, Ferguson foresees that AI will become a widespread tool that both employers and employees will have to learn to integrate into their work. To learn more about other current and future changes in the tech recruitment landscape, sign up for G-Pâs upcoming panel event [here](. ---------------------------------------------------------------
