Hello {NAME} âWhat kind of low-quality hit piece journalism is this?â From that first reader comment, I knew that my article on Ohmyhome, the property platform, would be controversial. Iâll leave readers to decide on the quality, but I want to assure you that I would never deliberately set out to write a âhit pieceâ on any company. As someone who dislikes confrontation, it's just not my style. Sure, none of us are immune from othersâ preconceived notions or questions. For example, why is such a small company wanting to list in the US at this time? But the thrust of the article was formed from a review of the facts Ohmyhome itself disclosed in its prospectus as well as conversations I had with industry stakeholders who have had interactions with the company. Unfortunately, Ohmyhome was unable to comment due to the requisite quiet period before an IPO. The article would certainly have benefited from getting managementâs perspective, but those are the rules we are all playing with. As clichéd as it sounds, only time will tell whether investors will take the bait. Ohmyhome will be able to publicly comment once it lists, and you can be sure that we will follow up with them by then. -- [Simon Huang]( journalist at Tech in Asia
