Hello {NAME} “What kind of low-quality hit piece journalism is this?” From that first reader comment, I knew that my article on Ohmyhome, the property platform, would be controversial. I’ll leave readers to decide on the quality, but I want to assure you that I would never deliberately set out to write a “hit piece” on any company. As someone who dislikes confrontation, it's just not my style. Sure, none of us are immune from others’ preconceived notions or questions. For example, why is such a small company wanting to list in the US at this time? But the thrust of the article was formed from a review of the facts Ohmyhome itself disclosed in its prospectus as well as conversations I had with industry stakeholders who have had interactions with the company. Unfortunately, Ohmyhome was unable to comment due to the requisite quiet period before an IPO. The article would certainly have benefited from getting management’s perspective, but those are the rules we are all playing with. As clichéd as it sounds, only time will tell whether investors will take the bait. Ohmyhome will be able to publicly comment once it lists, and you can be sure that we will follow up with them by then. -- [Simon Huang]( journalist at Tech in Asia  --------------------------------------------------------------- TOP STORIES THIS WEEK 1️. [Ohmyhome IPO raises red flags]( The Singapore-based proptech firm wants to list on the Nasdaq, but our analysis of its prospectus suggests a successful IPO may be a long shot. 2. [The key players in Singapore’s thriving fintech space (update)]( In 2022, funding for fintech startups in Singapore reached a peak of US$2.31 billion across 85 deals. 3. [The leading Asian tech players eyeing an IPO in 2023 and beyond (Updated)]( There are over 102 tech startups across the region planning an IPO, and 50 of them could collectively raise over US$31.28 billion. 4. [The key players in Indonesia’s Web3 space]( Crypto exchanges get the bulk of venture funding, but DeFi startups and NFT projects have also risen.
