Check out our top articles for the week. [Read from your browser]( Top Stories of The Week Hello {NAME} , Indonesia’s fintech sector is growing into its own. Last week, we put out a piece highlighting the [fintech players putting Indonesia on the map](. Over the last few years, the Indonesian government has been working to better regulate its burgeoning peer-to-peer lending and digital payments sectors. It’s also pushing to develop an open banking system that will allow consumer data to be shared between banks and fintech firms - a move that could potentially reduce borrowing costs, improve financial inclusion, and foster collaboration between traditional banks and fintech companies. More consolidation and partnerships are underway as the government now seeks to streamline the country’s digital payment system, potentially through LinkAja, the e-wallet owned by a consortium of state-owned banks that counts both Grab and Gojek as investors. By mid-year, the country’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) will also be releasing guidelines for digital banks in the country, which successful applicants for digital bank licenses in Singapore and Malaysia - and also those who are not - will be watching keenly. That development will surely be one to watch. -- Melissa Goh, journalist at Tech in Asia  ---------------------------------------------------------------  THE BIGGEST STORIES 1️. [The fintech players putting Indonesia on the map]( Last year, fintech companies in Indonesia attracted US$515 million in fundraising, a slight decrease of 10.9% from the year before. 2️. [CXA Group to shut down Vietnam tech hub, lay off dozens]( The tech hub was launched in 2019 to drive CXA's core tech capabilities to serve clients and partners in other markets. 3. [Razer turns profitable in 2020, posts $1.2b in revenue]( The gaming titan posted a GAAP net profit of US$800,000 for last year. 4. [Singapore may be approaching a golden age for SaaS startups]( The “tiny dot” isn’t typically seen as a software-as-a-service hub, but that could change in the near future. 5. [A startup looks to become Indonesia’s next big consumer goods brand]( Apart from making popular consumer products accessible to Indonesia's rural communities, the rapidly growing Dagangan is also manufacturing its own goods. 6. [New Singaporean VC firm M Capital closes maiden fund at $31m]( Called M Venture Partners (MVP), the vehicle expects to invest in roughly 40 early-stage ventures with an average initial check size of about US$500,000. 7. [‘Netflix of Indonesia’ merges with SPAC to list on US exchange]( AVN and MSA's merger will value the combined company at US$573 million. 8. [How hospitality startup RedDoorz saw record revenues despite Covid-19]( RedDoorz seems to have rebounded from the pandemic even though its co-living brand KoolKost was hit hard. 9. [As investors flee Myanmar, some startups see an opportunity]( "At some point, things would have to move,” says an investor. “People need to be fed." 10. [IDCloudHost secures $5m from Bukalapak founder Achmad Zaky’s Init 6]( It plans to use the new funds to bolster its technology and expand human resources.  ---------------------------------------------------------------  UNLOCKED PREMIUM ARTICLE Every week, we unlock a premium article for our readers who haven’t made the jump to a premium subscription so you can enjoy the investigative or in-depth pieces that our editorial team spent weeks (even months) to produce.
