Many of the discussions and advice I found were on US-based sites like Reddit and similar platforms. While that was great for getting a general idea of what to do - investing through dollar cost averaging in index funds, for example - I also wanted to learn more about situations specific to Singapore. One of the most obvious follow-up questions was whether it would be worth investing in the Singapore Exchange (SGX). It was somewhat frustrating because there wasn’t that much material for retail investors like myself. However, it did seem like the prevailing sentiment was that the SGX was mainly good for [passive dividend income]( and many of the stocks listed there do reflect this.
