Internet has been shut down across major cities in DR Congo pending the release of election results. However, this does not bode well for the integrity of the presidential election and has heightened fears of irregularities in the election. Emotet is an advanced and destructive banking Trojan affecting network systems. Biztech Africa, yesterday, [reported]( that 11 cases targeting local institutions have been detected so far. M-KOPA, a ‘pay-as-you-go’ solar and finance platform in East Africa has [raised funding]( from Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation. Early last year, M-Kopa raised more than $10 million from a group of investors including FinDev Canada and was reported to have wired more than 500,000 homes at the time. While the details of this new funding from Sumitomo were not made available, the Japanese corporation, through this investment, wants to "contribute to improving the living standards of people inhabiting non-electrified areas".
