Below, we chat with Lowe of [Hot Sunday Home]( a creator who shares unique decor and DIY tips from her ever-changing Los Angeles apartment. showing her audience how easy it is to create a sanctuary even when you rent. *This interview has been edited for brevity. TASTEMADE: How do you define “Small Acts?” What are some ways you like to give back to the community? LOWE: One of my favorite ways to give back to my community in L.A. is to shop small, especially when I’m doing my daily walks. There’s an excellent shop right down the street from me, the Guatemalteca Bakery, that I love getting all of my breads and pastries from. How do you bring moments of love into your daily life? I like to think bringing moments of love into my life just looks like romanticizing the small things. Lately, I’ve been stopping by the flower market to bring home a few special stems just because. And being sure to open the curtains in my living room every single morning helps me start the day with a bit of sunshine and intention. 45 Three Modern Vintage in Los Angeles Can you share a few of your favorite Black-owned businesses? One of my absolute favorite Black-owned businesses is [45 Three Modern Vintage](. The owner, Stacy, is such a gem, and her shop in the heart of L.A. is filled with so many treasures. Vintage wood chairs, stone lamps, art galore — it’s truly an antique lover’s paradise. I also love that there are pieces of Stacy's history sprinkled in: Photos of her mom with Betty Shabazz (Malcolm X’s wife) and black and white snapshots of her family add a little soul into the mix. I’m also a forever fan of [Bloom and Plume Coffee](. It’s owned by Maurice Harris, florist and cultural icon extraordinaire, and the drinks are just as colorful and delish as Harris’s bouquets. What are some things in your home you’re really loving these days? Honestly, I’ve been loving my TV a lot lately. I’ve been in my homebody era for the past few months, and truly nothing beats vegging out on the couch with snacks and [a TV that’s on a rolling easel](. I can wheel it all around the apartment! When I’m able to pull myself away from couch rotting, I’ve been enjoying [my new bistro table](. It did cost me a pretty penny at Lulu and Georgia, but it adds the sweetest marble touch and doesn’t take up much space. I’m already planning to snag [a Saguaro lamp]( (from one of my fave artists and designers, Élan Byrd) to pop on top for a little color.
