Drumroll, please… 6.  [Fluffy, spongy Sicilian pizza]( Technically called sfincione, this focaccia-like pizza is still popular all over Italy today — and clearly needs a bit more love. 5. [Super-thin St. Louis pizza]( The secret to its cracker-like crust? No yeast! This controversial pizza isn’t for everyone, but those who get it, get it. 😋 4.  [Detroit-style pan pizza]( Also known as “grandma style,” this newly trendy pizza is making waves for its gloriously chewy edges and plenty of caramelized cheese. 3. [Classic Chicago deep-dish pizza]( While some may argue it “isn’t technically pizza,” this third-place ‘za will always have a place in our hearts…and bellies. 2.  [A giant, floppy, New York slice]( Best eaten at 2 a.m. from a walk-up window that nobody else knows about. We’re as shocked as you are that a New York slice didn’t place #1! 1. [Simple Neapolitan pizza]( Hey, it’s a classic for a reason. This delicious (and, some argue, OG) pizza has strict requirements, but fresh, quality ingredients clearly can’t be beat. Sponsored by Wendy’s Game on for cheesy cravings. Satisfy all your melty, juicy, nacho-y, crunchy cravings in one mouthwatering bite. Introducing [Wendy's new Loaded Nacho Cheeseburger]( featuring a jalapeño cheddar bun, poblano queso, spicy chipotle sauce, and corn and tortilla strips — everything you love about the iconic, square-patty burger, layered with the cheesy, crunchy goodness you expect from loaded nachos. It wouldn’t be Pizza Week without the folks who actually make the pizza. So we chatted with some of the restaurants serving up ‘za at First Slice, Tastemade’s Pizza Week kickoff party, which included invites just for Tastemade+ members. Those spots were snapped up immediately — all the more reason to [become a Tastemade+ member](. 👀 Keep an eye on our [Instagram]( for a recap of the sold-out event! What's the craziest pizza request you've ever received and successfully made? “Someone asked for a Big Mac-inspired pizza for a football event and we did it. Called it ‘The Hamburglar’ and it was really freaking good.” — Chris Wallace of [Ozzy’s Apizza]( “A Pepperoni Pizza without Pepperoni. I asked, ‘So they want a cheese?’ They said no, a Pepperoni with no pepperoni. — Tommy B. of [LA Sorted’s Pizzeria]( “For several events and specials in the past we have done Elote and/or Birria pizzas, another is a Lumpia pizza. We have also made a Wagyu beef pepperoni pizza upon special request.” — [Speak Cheezy]( What's the story behind the name of your most popular pizza? “Our most devoted fans might point out that we have a secret menu item with a name. This would be ‘The Larg,’ named after wonderful LA chef [Lo Hoang]( who likes it half mushroom/half pepperoni.” — Sean Lango of [Secret Pizza]( “Alicia Keys! We name all of our sweet buns after old school hip hop artists so when we decided on a savory spin we went R&B. We chose Alicia cause she’s from NYC and the Big Apple reminds us of some great pizza!” — Lindsay Sears of [All About the Cinnamon Baby]( “The LBC is one of our most popular pizzas and the name is derived from the city we reside in, the great city of Long Beach. It consists of our fennel sausage, borough cut pepperoni, a little garlic confit and finished with a little ricotta cheese to give a contrast of flavors to build on. — [Speak Cheezy]( Do you have a secret menu item that only your biggest fans know about? “We have one secret menu item and it’s called ‘The Mikey Rabbit.’ It’s our White Rabbit pie (a white pie with house made ricotta cream sauce, fresh spinach, garlic, and pecorino) plus Italian sausage on top. Michael, one of the hugely important members of the Ozzy’s team, would always ask us to make it for him, so I added it to the menu and named it after him.” — Chris Wallace of [Ozzy’s Apizza]( “We call it ‘The Good Stuff’ — you know those free packets of Grated Parmesan Cheese you see around? This is the elevated version of that: a small container of freshly grated imported Italian Pecorino Romano Cheese. It's really some of the best stuff on earth and it isn't long before it won't be much of a secret.” — Sean Lango of [Secret Pizza]( “Our Triple Dog Dare Pizza, based on the Dodger Dog. We took it off the menu and only make it during the playoffs and opening day.” — Tommy B. of [LA Sorted’s Pizzeria]( Promotional consideration provided by Ooni Still have piping hot pies on the mind? 🤤 Whatever your type and topping preference, make perfect pizza anywhere, anytime with [Ooni Pizza Ovens]( in just 60 seconds.
