October 21st, 2016 Top Stories --------------------------------------------------------------- [Why The RNC Wants Nothing To Do With Trump’s Poll Watcher Call To Arms] The Gist: Trump's rhetoric about a "rigged" election and his calls for vigilante poll watchers are making the RNC walk a thin tightrope. [Fox's Chris Wallace 'Disappointed' That Ailes Joined Trump Campaign] The Gist: Wallace was not exactly thrilled when Roger Ailes, the former Fox News executive who resigned this year amid sexual harassment allegations, joined Donald Trump's campaign. [Trump Booed For Clinton Barbs At New York Charity Dinner (VIDEO)] The Gist: Trump’s reception at an annual charity dinner cooled considerably when his speech pivoted from self-deprecating jokes to barbs about Hillary Clinton, who sat in the audience. From The Reporter's Notebook --------------------------------------------------------------- Yoga instructor Karena Virginia alleged during a Thursday press conference with high-profile attorney Gloria Allred that Donald Trump grabbed her arm and touched her breast while she was waiting for a car at the U.S. Open in Flushing, Queens in 1998. TPM's Esme Cribb noted that Virginia is [the tenth woman to come forward] with allegations against Trump since the second presidential debate. "I have been advised that Mr. Trump will probably call me a liar," Virginia said, noting his interjection towards Clinton at the end of the final presidential debate: "Just another nasty woman." Agree or Disagree? --------------------------------------------------------------- Josh Marshall: "Now she's back as Donald Trump's credentialed expert propagating the 'voter fraud' myth. On CNN this morning she spouted a series of straight up lies about on the subject, essentially hijacking a whole segment on whether Trump would accept the results of the election. 'This nation has been victimized by rampant election fraud,' McCaughey said. It's not too much to say that [no one in recent decades has introduced more lies] into the public policy and political discussion under the cover of professional credentials than Betsy McCaughey. It's amazing that she's still allowed to appear on TV after having been exposed so many times as a serial bullshit artist." Say What?! --------------------------------------------------------------- "Give me a break." - Trump's campaign dismissed, but [did not deny] or specifically address, new allegations of sexual misconduct by the GOP nominee. BUZZING: Today in the Hive --------------------------------------------------------------- From a TPM Prime member: "Donald Trump has never admitted to being wrong publicly, never admitted to losing or failing at anything publicly. I just can't imagine him starting now in 'the most watched concession speech in history.' He likes both positive and negative attention, sure. He likes people talking about how horrible and dangerous he is almost as much as people praising him. But that's because it strokes his ego to know that he is feared. But going in front of America and admitting that he lost to the woman he's been trashing the past year? The only way he could do that is if he convinced himself it was a positive thing. Maybe he can spin it as being magnanimous and patriotic, that he's doing the country a favor by conceding. Maybe he can talk about how great his life of luxury will be now that he's out of the spotlight. I don't know." Related: In a rally Thursday, Donald Trump said he will accept [the result of the presidential election] in November “if I win.” Have something to add?
