{NAME} Why do we as a society study the average person? For example... - The average person sleeps 6.8 hours/night - The average person has $5,300 in their bank account - The average American consumes 3,600 calories/day Averages are just that... average. What you should instead think about is the "outliers" - exceptional people who achieve results outside of the averages. What do exceptional people do differently? In the book Outliers, one of the major factors that helped people was luck. But it's not the kind of random luck you'd expect in a casino. It's the type of luck I call opportunistic luck. Opportunistic luck is when you take advantage of the situation you're in. In some ways, we're all lucky. And if you think about it, simply being born and alive today involved a lot of luck. If you were born healthy, that's also due to luck. Being born rich is also luck, but that's not the only factor. Some people born rich end up losing their money because they never learned how to make it themselves. No matter who you are, there's some luck to your life. It could be something you're good at, such as writing or social skills. The great news is you only need one as long as you take it and run with it. {NAME}, if you look at your life... Is there something about it that makes you feel like you're lucky? Reply back and let me know.
