Hey {NAME}, Arnold Schwarzenegger was always one of my idols growing up. Throughout his life, he achieved one goal after another. When most people fail to hit their ONE goal. Here are a few: - Won Mr. Olympia 7 times - California Governor for 8 years - Founded a non-profit environmental organization called "R20 Regions of Climate Action" - The star of countless movies - Published amazing books including one of my favorites, "Total Recall" I've been fortunate to meet him in person many times over the years to discuss topics such as reprogramming your mind, how to not procrastinate, thinking big, training, daily routines and mentors. Today, in this email, I'm going to give you some insight into our conversations. Let's get right to it! On Growing Up Arnold told me his dad was all about "being useful" - and that he'd have to do workouts or errands around the house before meals. It was only after he did ~30 minutes of work that he'd be able to eat breakfast before going to school. On Procrastination Arnold doesn't procrastinate. He says he has a clear vision about what he wants and works toward it relentlessly. There's a time to relax and enjoy, of course. But if you have a goal, don't let anything get in your way until that goal is accomplished! On Thinking Big Being Mr. Austria wasn't enough - Arnold wanted to become Mr. Olympia. Arnold didn't want to become an actor - he wanted to become the highest-paid actor of all time. Arnold reached these goals. How did he overcome the fear of thinking big? Not being afraid of failing. The furthest you can fall is 6 feet under. So as long as you're able to get back up after a mistake, you should be comfortable with continuing to put in effort. Believe in yourself. Believe in your goals. Work 100% toward it. Every step you take brings you closer. On Reps & Sets The more often you do something, the better you get at it. This works the same in the gym as it does with anything else in life. On Mentors Arnold is definitely one of my top mentors. His book, Total Recall, is one of the top 10 books on [my recommended book reading list.]( Mentors will change your life. Trust me. As I wrap this up, I want to ask you... Do you have a mentor? If you don't, what's stopping you from getting one? If you do, what's the biggest impact your mentor has made on your life? Reply back and let me know!
