One of the strongest beliefs I have is that conflict in life can lead to great things. Going through personal challenges in your own life can lead to greater outcomes, but you have to approach it with the right mindset. Some of the hardest challenges people will ever face in their lives come from health complication. Getting injured or having a disease can completely alter people’s lives, but the people who approach it as something to overcome come out stronger in the end. If you want to be successful, you gotta be tough. If you have to fight a disease, people who are mentally tough and have good support often have higher rate of recovery. This is science. UCLA put out a study that showed people with cancer have a higher rate of remission if they have a support system and stay mentally strong. I got to sit down with an incredibly tough 18 year old named Sean. Sean is an entrepreneur who run’s his own marketing agency, and has been diagnosed with cancer twice, and is on his way to beating it twice. Make a Wish foundation reached out to Sean and he said he wanted to meet me, but fortunately his tumor has gone into remission, so after hearing his story I had to talk to him. I wanted to share one of the conversations we had with you, because there’s a lot to learn from people who have gone through challenges. Tai Lopez: Sean is here from the Make a Wish Foundation. I was his Make a Wish request. Man, I’m so honored that out of anything you wanted to hangout with me, and it's been interesting to hear his story fighting cancer. What's up? Sean: What's up? Tai Lopez: So, you’ve started a social media marketing agency, Watson Media. Sean: Yeah, Watson Media. Tai Lopez: And you’re doing it with some friends? Sean: Yeah, two friends. I had kind of a bigger group at one point, but that had to change. Tai Lopez: Sean has a great goal. He's going to make a lot of money as a businessman, and then he's going to give it back. Sean: Yep. Tai Lopez: What charities are you going to give it to? Sean: Any cancer research organizations. I tried to start up something, but with too many people. Tai Lopez: Yeah. Never have too many people. You could have employees, but not too many business partners. Basically, one or two business partners at the most. You get way too many ideas and then there's eventually going to be a dishonest person that rips somebody off. You can have a big company with employees, but not too many business partners. Or, split the businesses up. Let's say there's three people you want to do business with. Make one business with one person, one or two, and then split it up into different things. Also, then it gives more responsibility, you know? Sean: Sure. Tai Lopez: So, you told me you like to travel. What's the furthest you've been? Sean: Hawaii. Tai Lopez: Oh, you know what? I've never been to Hawaii. Sean: Really? Tai Lopez: How good is it? Sean: Gotta go to Hawaii, man. It's beautiful. It really is. Wow, my friends are gonna be so jealous. I can’t believe I’m hanging out with you. My first Make a Wish was to meet Tai, get the best advice I could from him. Thankfully, things happened how they did, and I got to meet him without using my Make a Wish, which is cool. Tai Lopez: You know, there's a thing I read, "Make your mess your message." That sounds like you're already doing that. You’re gonna make your business successful, and do some great stuff with the cancer foundations. I have a friend, who was a basketball coach. His name is George Karl. He got cancer twice in his throat. He recovered and he started a charity that's raised millions of dollars, the George Karl Cancer Foundation. Sean: Wow. That's awesome. Tai Lopez: That'll be you next. Sean: Hopefully. ======= SPECIAL OFFER I'm going to be honest with you, if you're not investing your money, you'll always be a slave to your income. [Yes, I want to learn the 23 Simple Investing Strategies I Can Use Today To Help Passively Earn More Money!]( ======= Tai Lopez: What would your advice be for somebody who's struggling with a life-threatening disease? Sean: Hope. That's what kept me going in the hospital. I was there for three months. I'd say just keep your motivation. Never give up. Even if I don't make it, I still want to leave something for my family. Always keep a good motivation. Tai Lopez: You're going to hang in there, my friend. Sean: Thank you. Tai Lopez: You're going to be running a business. I might be working for you. Sean: Yeah, right. So last year, when I was 17, around July, I had plans to go in the navy, and some plans to be an entrepreneur, but I didn't really know where the next storm was. In July, I got diagnosed with a brain tumor. You know, it was heavy, but I was mostly sad about my family's reaction. Seeing them worry about me was worse than me having a tumor, itself. I ended up, luckily, beating that cancer. Then in January, I got diagnosed again, with another brain tumor. It was different, but mostly the same. Two of the cancers that were in the brain tumor were killed off by the chemo that I was taking. I got put in the hospital for about three months to have radiation treatment. So far, right now, looks like I'm good. Hopefully I am. Hopefully, I'm cancer free, basically. Tai Lopez: This has been amazing. I'm so honored, but really, Sea, you’re a lot braver than me. Hats off to you. Want to go for a ride in the Lambo? Sean: Definitely! - - Whenever challenges come up in your life, just remember this. No matter how tough the struggle is, and I'm sure you got real struggles in life, someone else probably has it a lot worse. Keep things in perspective. Perspective is key. Remember that you can gain something from every struggle in life, you just have to be willing to learn. Stay Strong, Tai P.S. Never underestimate the value of networking and learning from others.
