Why? Because those people embody qualities you're aspiring to. But, nowadays we know too much. In the modern world, heroes are dead. Just look up anyone who might be considered a "hero": - Mother Theresa: she's accused of being a crook and a fraud. - Martin Luther King Jr: he slept around behind his wife's back. - Thomas Jefferson: Owned slaves, as did George Washington. One search on Google will show you all of the faults these humans possessed. Remember {NAME}, about 50% of people will hate anyone you admire. I'm not talking about just being slightly annoyed, I'm talking about despising. I recently went to watch the movie about Bob Marley… and there was a lot of good he was trying to do before he passed away. Do I really need to go an look at what the people who despise him have to say? Why not focus on the positive traits one of the greatest musicians of our time had, and strive for those? "But Tai, aren't you curious?" Not really, but let's say I am for argument's sake. The human brain is affected by negativity. In fact, it actually elevates negativity. It's called negativity bias. My mentor, Alan Nation, used to say: "You know what sucks about public speaking? You can give a great talk, get a standing ovation. Now, I'm going to give you a little hack {NAME}. You want to make sure you're being domain specific. You want to stay delusional about your heroes in a specific area. If you want to build a company that sells electric cars, Elon Musk is a good hero to have. You can look up to how he build a $500 billion dollar company, and strive to mimic what he did to do it. But if you don't like how he handles his relationship with his family (just an example) then don't copy that! It's not the domain you're looking up to Elon Musk anyway.
