Dear Reader, What does it mean to be a ‘founder’? It’s a term that’s been used and abused by Silicon Valley types in recent years, but, basically, it remains true to its Latin roots as a word for bottom or base—like the foundation of a building. To found something means to help build it from the ground up. We launched a membership program this year as a way to connect with readers in a deeper, more profound way. We’ve been calling those who joined “founding members,” but at a certain point one has to draw a line between founders and just plain members. That line will be drawn tonight at midnight. If you join today, you’ll be on the list of those who got in on the ground floor. We are building something together that we believe will sustain both American and Jewish life in the future. [Join us](. With warm wishes for a Happy New Year, Alana -- [Remove me from this list](

Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
