The report also cited “Arab parties connected to the ongoing negotiations”—presumably Egypt or Qatar—who said that there are “many demands from the [Israeli] army and the political leadership for … carrying out major deterrent action against Hezbollah.” It’s unclear whether the rumored invasion plans are real or merely part of some elaborate Levantine haggling gambit, but there’s no doubt that the IDF’s patience is running out.
