Mark's guidelines for determining risk per Trade: Conviction: Generalized Numbers Of Dollar Risk Via Options 1/10 1k to 3k 2/10 1k to 5k 3/10 3k to 6k 4/10 5k to 8k 5/10 5k to 12k 6/10 8k to 16k 7/10 10k to 25k 8/10 10k to 50k 9/10 25k to 100k 10/10 35k to 200k++ Generalized Numbers Of Dollar Risk Via Stock(COMMON SHARES) 1/10 to 3/10 100 shares to 1000 shares 4/10 300 shares to 10,000 shares 5/10 500 shares to 40,000 shares 6/10 to 10/10 1000 shares to 1,000,000 shares. Other Factors That Change This: 1) Time Value: Which Options Are You Buying? If You're Doing Options. The Earlier In The Week justifies higher dollar risk due to time value especially if you're taking weeklies. The easiest way to avoid this factor largely would be to take more time value(next week/month/months expiration) 2) Option Spreads: Are you trading Amazon? Google? Tesla? Cisco? Microsoft? Apple? Larger the spreads should reduce size. Tighter spreads is easier to mitigate risk, and larger sizes are more justified. 3) When Trading Stocks: Level II spreads between the bid and offer change risk as well. Larger the spreads should reduce size and vice versa on tighter spreads. 4) Market Orders vs Limit Orders: On larger spreads limit orders are very important. The 'volume weighted' column analyses increases in current volume relative to historic levels. Range Weighted judges names with the biggest overall relative movement. The 'current' section shows those that have shown higher than average volume or range within the last 5 minutes and 'cumulative' shows those for the entire day. The number of minutes shown when you hover over signifies how long that stock has been in that condition. Manual Feed means the commentator is entering their trades manually.
