Labor protections coming soon

‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ # {NAME}, no one who works a full-time job should struggle to provide for their family. But all too often in this country, workers aren’t given that chance. They’re struggling to get by, living paycheck to paycheck, and the American Dream’s flame is being slowly extinguished. It doesn’t have to be like this. As Founder and Co-Chair of the Labor Caucus I’m very proud that the House has passed the historic Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act — it will turn the tide for American workers. The PRO Act is the most significant labor law in 80 years and would protect the right to organize a union and bargain for fairer wages, better benefits, and safer workplaces. Over the past several decades the United States has created enormous wealth, but working men and women have been left behind with stagnant wages. At a time when renewed emphasis is placed on worker safety and fair wages, no single piece of legislation would do more to restore the middle class and the American Dream. This bill represents our best chance in years to ensure that American workers have a level playing field. For too long, our public policy has favored the wealthy at the expense of the working class. Everyone of every background deserves an opportunity to succeed, and that’s what this bill will do. The House has taken a huge step in the right direction, and we must keep going. As Founder and Co-Chair of the Labor Caucus I’ll continue fighting to protect and expand labor rights — but far-right Republicans are already working to end Democrats’ House majority so they can undo everything we’re accomplishing this year.
