[View this message as a web page]( [Reader Recommends]( Friday, September 8 - Sunday, September 10 Time to plan the weekend. Here's some of what we recommend: 9/8: Bravely follow Reggie's (2105 S. State) into the double digits: the music venue celebrates its [ten-year anniversary]( with a whole bunch of free barbecue, plus sets from AC/DC tribute band Black Angus, Mr. Blotto, and Deuce Funk Monsters. 5-9 PM, free 9/8: Opening tonight at Rotofugi Gallery (2780 N. Lincoln), painter Scott Listfield's solo show ["Pew Pew Pew"]( depicts astronauts inside video games and other pop culture memorabilia; one piece has a spaceman staring longingly at a Super Mario Bros. question-mark block. Opening reception: 7-10 PM, free 9/9: Spooooooooky spirits abound on the semiweekly [Nightly Spirits Ghost Tour](, which stops at "haunted" Chicago bars—including the Red Lion Pub (the tour's starting point, 2446 N. Lincoln), Tavern 57 (1059 W. Wrightwood), and Lincoln Station (2432 N. Lincoln). If you see ghosts, who ya gonna call? Uber, I guess. 8:30 PM, $25 9/9: Iranian-American comic [Max Amini]( stops by the Athenaeum Theatre (2936 N. Southport) with jokes about the people living in war-torn countries who just want to live their lives and laugh. Tonight’s the only chance to check out this rising star. 8 PM, $42.50-$679/10: Improvisers provide Mystery Science Theater 3000-style color commentary over Sunday football games at Emporium Arcade Bar's [Sunday Funday Football Luau]( (2363 N. Milwaukee). Not the best place to be if you want to pay attention to the game itself, but good fun nonetheless. 3 PM, free 9/10: Postcards weren't accessible to the general public until 1903, when Kodak introduced a camera capable of taking bite-size images. In ["Greetings From Logan Square,"]( Comfort Station (2579 N. Milwaukee) displays postcards depicting the neighborhood from then till the end of the 20th century. noon-3 PM, free For more stuff to do this weekend—and every day—check out our [Agenda]( page. --------------------------------------------------------------- [In this week's Issue]( [The brightest lights at the World Music Festival]( Running for 17 days at venues all over Chicago, this free fest is a constellation of international stars.
