A new book of photography aims to change that, and we're eagerly anticipating its upcoming publication. [The New Black West: Photographs From America’s Only Touring Black Rodeo](, by Gabriela Hasbun, triumphantly documents 10 years of the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo, which is a touring show that celebrates the best Black riders in the country. [Magdalena O'Neal caught up with Hasbun and has the story on the book](, the history of the rodeo it documents, and a few beautiful photos, as well.
