If you have to ask... (It's $87 mil.) [Click here to read this email in a browser]( [Alternate text] To describe the dining room as "formal" would be an understatement. Photo by Joe Bryant. What is it that's so compelling about an open house? For me, if I'm being honest, there's a hint of intrigue, like I'm living out my childhood Harriet the Spy fantasy. And sometimes I'm legitimately gathering data for the day I'm actually in the market for a house, and gleaning decor tips. (I secretly like it when a house isn't staged—I want to see how real people live.) Usually, though, my motives for dropping into a home being shown are purely for the purpose of living vicariously. (Well, and sometimes there are cookies.) A house currently on the market in Beverly Hills is definitely one such property. I was, and so I deeply appreciated this [week's home tour](, which gave me a virtual taste of the ultra-luxe home. Sure enough, it's just as over-the-top as I'd imagined. Do you really need 12 bathrooms? Or an entire room devoted to billiards? Or a two-story library? No, of course you don't, but you do need to see it, and you can by scrolling down [or clicking here](. —Nicole Clausing, newsletter editor STORY OF THE WEEK America's Most Expensive Home Is Located in Beverly Hills—Take a Look Inside The megamansion features eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms.
