And to honor all those who give their time to support the art of independent filmmaking, we’re sharing a few of their favorite Festival memories. Drawn in by the opportunity to sit in on film screenings, some 1,500 to 2,000 volunteers contribute an astounding 80,000 to 100,000 hours at every 10-day Sundance Film Festival. Festival volunteer Devon Edwards found the landscape "majestic" and the Festival vibe uplifting. "It rejuvenated the entire creative response," he remembers. The 2022 Fest is online this year, but because of our volunteers, the spirit of Sundance Film Festival is very much alive.
